The Role

As Transmission Manager, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our renewable energy projects are successfully integrated into the NWIS grid. You'll be responsible for overseeing transmission infrastructure, managing grid connection processes, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimise high-voltage transmission lines. Your technical expertise and strategic thinking will contribute directly to YEC's goals.

What You'll Do

Transmission Design: Oversee design and optimise the development of high-voltage AC/DC transmission infrastructure.

Project Development: Support project development teams with electrical design aspects, particularly relating to grid compliance, Transmission design and connection requirements.

Grid Integration: Lead studies and collaborate with operators for seamless renewable energy integration.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with government bodies, consultants, and community stakeholders.

Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Project Management: Monitor budgets, timelines, and risk assessments for transmission grid connection elements of renewable energy projects.

About You

Strong understanding of Australian grid connection processes (NEM, WEM, NWIS).

Familiarity with AEMO GPS processes and R1/R2 testing requirements.

Demonstrated proficiency in power system modelling and transmission line software (PLS-CADD, PSCAD, ETAP).

Minimum 10 years of experience in transmission line design, with a focus on renewable energy.

Familiarity with grid codes, regulatory compliance, and permitting processes.

Exceptional communication skills and a self-motivated, collaborative mindset.

Alignment with YEC's values of integrity, sustainability, and community engagement.

Desirable: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
