Core Talent Renewable Energy Division is working with a national Power and Energy EPC who have current and future Transmission and Substation projects and they have an urgent requirement for an experienced Project Engineer (HV Substations Transmission Lines) to join an established team of professionals in Brisbane.

This Tier 1 contractors team have a wealth of experience in the renewable energy sector and are looking for a dedicated Project Engineer to grow and develop within the project team.

About the role:

Initially this position will be based in the project Office in Brisbane before transitioning to a site roster - based arrangement.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be involved in all stages of the projects. Assisting for the planning, conceptual design, design management, project relevant documentations, site visits, permitting and technical support during construction phase and project handover.

Responsibilities:

• Review and assist with all aspects of design then delivery including Electrical,civil, structural,and mechanical.
• Assist in project scheduling, cost tracking and quality assurance during the project
• Prepare and maintain all project technical and quality documentations
• Provide on-time project reporting to the EPC team and external clients.
• Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions
• Assist and manage the execution and delivery of major Substation and transmission line projects.

Requirements and Responsibilities

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or ( Civil Mechanical) a related field.
• Full working rights to work in Australia
• Be able to work away on a 2:1 possible 3:1 roster
• Proven experience in Sub station Construction and transmission projects.
• Demonstrated experience planning, budgeting, and resource management
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
• Plan, organize, and oversee the project scope, schedule, and resource management to ensure efficient execution of HV Transmission (275KV+) and substation (330KV-500KV) projects.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders at the site level to facilitate smooth project operations.
• Ensure strict adherence to approved drawings, technical specifications, codes, regulations, and industry construction practices throughout project implementation.
• Monitor and drive the execution/completion of projects within designated schedules and budget constraints, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Uphold compliance with quality, health, safety, environmental, and legislative requirements, maintaining high standards of project performance.
• Provide leadership in managing junior engineers, supervising, and mentoring the site team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
• Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in HV outdoor and indoor substations, 330kV to 500kV.
• Proficiency across various aspects of substation / transmission projects including design, engineering, construction, and testing & commissioning.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international standards, codes, and regulations governing EHV substation projects.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Primavera, MS Office
