Look to the stars with Astronomy Australia Ltd (AAL) – a not-for-profit company whose members are all the Australian universities and research organisations with a significant astronomical research capability.

AAL works with national astronomical observatories, relevant infrastructure providers, astronomers at universities, and the Australian Government.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity for a skilled part-time all-rounder to join our growing finance team. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will assist with a wide range of day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, payroll, financial reporting and annual audit.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience with financial book-keeping for a whole organisation. You will be highly motivated and possess a keen eye for detail, with proven proficiency in MYOB.

The role is based at AAL’s Melbourne office, located alongside the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing at Swinburne University of Technology, Hawthorn Campus. AAL also has offices in Sydney and Canberra – you will frequently interact with staff in these locations online as part of your daily activities in this role.

AAL is a small but dedicated team of professionals, offering a relaxed and family-friendly environment, close to public transport. While the role is based out of the Melbourne office, there is flexibility to work from home too.

An immediate start is preferred.

Remuneration

The remuneration package will be in the range of $85,000 - $95,000 p.a. pro-rata, plus employer superannuation contributions of 11.5%, plus salary packaging options.
