About Centrecare

The Role
We are seeking qualified Counsellors to join our programs located at our Kalgoorlie office. This role is primarily to provide counselling the enhance the healthy functioning of individuals, couples and families. Our service is designed to provide education, support and counselling for individual children, couples and families. Areas covered include Kalgoorlie/Boulder, Norseman, Leonora, Laverton, Coolgardie and Kambalda;
A Few Specifics:
- Screening, assessments and support planning.
- Selecting and providing appropriate brief intervention supports for clients whether they be clients or carers.
- Assessing supports and ensuring that they are appropriate to meeting client's needs.
- Deliver evidence-based counselling and group interventions.
- Referring and assisting clients to access appropriate mainstream specialist services and support groups; and
- Providing information and education to clients, carers, families and other service providers; and providing and/or arranging support for carers and families.
Programs
Selection Criteria
- Recognised tertiary qualification; minimum bachelor's degree in, Psychology, Social Work/Sciences, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development and/or Family studies and related disciplines or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in working with children and families with complex needs e.g. domestic violence, homelessness, abuse, schooling issues. Whereby service design was inclusive of social, emotional, mental, and physical needs.
- Experience in case management and coordination of client services.
- Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment and case management.
- Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
