Randstad Senior Finance is supporting a small but growing financial services firm based in Melbourne CBD who are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join their team for a 6-month contract, reporting to the CFO.

As the business matures, they are entering a new phase of financial reporting and require a hands-on finance professional to lead key initiatives during year-end and beyond.

This role will play a critical part in supporting the financial year-end process, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting, setting strong processes to clear reconciliation backlogs, and managing consolidations. The successful candidate will also take ownership of implementing AASB 16 lease accounting standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation of general purpose financial statements

Clear backlog of bank and balance sheet reconciliations

Produce group consolidations and support audit requirements

Take the lead on the implementation of AASB 16

Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance

• Ad-hoc work as directed by the CFO

This role is suited to a highly technical, qualified senior finance professional who is adept working as a key player within a small finance team. Experience within financial services is an advantage but not a necessity. A proactive, solutions orientated attitude is a must and experience in AASB16 is a distinct advantage.

This business operates in the office five days per week so requires an individual who is committed to being on-site in Melbourne CBD full time throughout the duration of the contract.
