The Safe and Respectful Communities Team (SARC) is responsible for leading the University’s work to prevent student related sexual assault and harassment from occurring on our campuses, and for providing coordinated responses and support if it does happen.
About the position
This role is responsible for coordinating the intake and triage services at the Safe and Respectful Communities (SARC) team, supporting students who have experienced violence, abuse, or harassment. Acting as the first point of contact, the role involves conducting intake processes, assessing risk and safety, de-escalating situations, and ensuring appropriate, trauma-informed support is provided. It also includes liaising with SARC Coordinators to allocate cases and arranging urgent appointments with counselling or security services when necessary.
This role also supports the broader SARC team with administrative duties such as preparing resources, maintaining accurate records and data entry, and assisting with general admin and project-related tasks.
Applicants must meet the essential selection criteria for this role and be able to meet the following position requirements:
Hold an unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence, own or have access to a motor vehicle to enable travel between UOW onshore campuses.
Hold a current Working with Children Check.
Employment is subject to pre-employment checks including a Psychometric Assessment.
