About the role
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for casual Recycling Centre Operators to join Team Swan! These applicants will provide relief duties during periods of leave or on an ad hoc needs basis at the City’s Recycling Centres in Bullsbrook and Malaga.
Our Recycling Centres, Containers for Change Refund Point and Reuse Shop do some great work, reusing, reprocessing and recycling materials to keep them out of landfill.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting customers visiting the facilities, to safely unload goods for recycling and reuse.
- Maintain waste collection areas and ensure material is correctly recycled.
- Gate house operation, including using relevant programs for data entry
- Assist in the sale of goods and receive fees utilising EFTPOS terminal
- Organise and maintain Reuse shop appearance
- Operating a counting machine in the Containers for Change Refund Point,
- Manual sorting of containers
- Manual handling
- Keep work areas clean and tidy ensuring a safe working environment, including site clean-up and litter control
- Safely operate a variety of plant and equipment
- Use a two-way radio
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Available to work Thursdays – Sundays
- Available to work on occasions with minimal notice provided
- Understanding of safety in the workplace
- Deliver outstanding customer service
- Community minded with a willingness to improve the quality of life for our community.
- Current HR Driver’s Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
- Computer skills to complete online learning training; use workplace software and basic Microsoft office applications
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The hourly rate for this position will be from $33.27 to $34.59, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant, plus 25% casual loading.
