We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic DevOps Engineer to join our drug checking (also known as pill testing) service on a casual basis, including some onsite work at music festivals. You'll be responsible for managing and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring our applications run smoothly, and overseeing the administration of our productivity suites. If you have a solid understanding of Azure, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Node.js, and are comfortable with Linux, we'd love to hear from you.

Duties and responsibilities

Manage our Azure App Service, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring

Administer our PostgreSQL databases, including schema updates and performance optimization

Look after our Azure Blob Storage, including data migration and access control

Update database schemas to support application changes and improvements

Help with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration, including user management and security settings

Basic Linux administration, including command-line interfaces

Use Docker and Docker Swarm to deploy and manage containerised applications

Set up and manage Local Area Networks (LANs), including WiFi configuration and security

Deploy and manage Node.js applications on Azure App Service

Configure and manage DNS settings for our applications

Set up and maintain laptops for our team, including:

Enrolling devices into Microsoft Intune

Installing and configuring required applications and software

Ensuring devices are compliant with our security policies and procedures

Hours

Casual Position

Up to 15 hours per week

There may be some shifts that extend to early evenings or weekends

Some shifts will be onsite at festivals

Qualifications, skills and experience

Associate diploma or higher with relevant experience, or

Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure and services, particularly Microsoft Azure (App Services, Blob Storage, DNS).

Strong skills in PostgreSQL administration, Linux systems, and containerisation using Docker/Docker Swarm.

Experience deploying and maintaining Node.js web applications in cloud-hosted environments.

Proficiency in administering Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, including device enrolment via Microsoft Intune.

Ability to work independently in dynamic environments (e.g., music festivals), with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
