About the Position

  • Perform a wide range of civil construction, drainage, and general labouring tasks, focusing on municipal works.
  • Prepare and maintain worksites before and after project completion.
  • Ensure a safe workplace by following Work Health and Safety guidelines and safe plant operations to protect team members and the public.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leaders, and senior officers to maintain an open flow of information and provide guidance.
  • Perform job accounting tasks, including plant hire, timesheets, and stores documentation.
  • Adhere to approved quality and environmental procedures and policies for your work area.

About the Benefits:

  • normal working hours of 6:30am to 3:30pm
  • rostered day off - 9-day fortnight
  • accrual of banked time to be used as a leave option
  • ability to take long service leave pro-rata after 7 years of service
  • $34.20 per hour
  • plus Critical Worker Trade Allowance of $6.00 per hour
  • plus 17.5% annual leave loading
  • up to 12.65% superannuation
  • plus variable allowances
  • Overtime and other penalty rates
  • Two (2) permanent full-time positions based at our Principal Depot at Charlton.
  • Salary fortnightly base rate is $2598.94 gross,

About the Construction and Maintenance Central Team

The Construction and Maintenance Central (CMC) Team undertake capital and operational works to maintain and improve safety, serviceability and efficiency of the region’s road network and integrated transport system.

How to be successful in this position:

  • Current Queensland Plumber’s Licence.
  • Current Queensland Drainer’s Licence (or the ability to obtain within 12 months of commencement).
  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • WH&S Competency (White Card) for CPCCWHS1001 (or a willingness to obtain).
  • Certificate in Confined Space (or a willingness to obtain within 3 months).
  • Certificate of Competency in Traffic Management Implementation (or a willingness to obtain within 3 months).
  • Certificate of Competency for Quick Cut Saw (or a willingness to obtain within 3 months)
