Join the Team - Drainer
We are seeking a skilled Drainer to join our dynamic team at the Water Infrastructure Services Branch. As a Drainer, you will:
- Carry out essential civil construction and maintenance tasks for municipal works.
- Operate high-pressure drain cleaning equipment and undertake drainage and general labouring duties.
- Prepare and maintain worksites to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with team members, leaders, and senior officers.
- Manage job-related documentation, including plant hire, timesheets, and stores.
- Adapt to varying schedules and locations across the Toowoomba region, including contributing to after-hours/on-call rosters as needed.
Qualifications Needed:
- Current Queensland Drainer’s licence.
- ‘MR’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- WH&S Competency (White Card) for CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
About the position:
- This is a permanent full-time position based at our Principal Depot at Charlton.
- Normal working hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm.
- Rosted day off - 9-day fortnight.
- Hourly rate $28.38 gross.
- Weekly wage $1,078.52 gross.
- Plus 17.5% annual leave loading.
- Up to 12.65% superannuation.
- In addition to the base wage rate, variable allowances are available - Trade allowance, construction allowance, on-call allowance, overtime and other penalty rates, wet weather allowance, live sewer allowance.
- A Council vehicle and tools will be available for work use.
- Work in a safety-conscious organisation - home safe every day!
