Your new role

The Structural Steel Estimator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality quotations that support the company's strong reputation for reliability and client satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end estimating process--from measuring and quoting structural steel components to negotiating with clients, engineers, and architects. You will act as the crucial link between clients and internal teams, ensuring accuracy in specifications, pricing, and variations, while maintaining consistent communication throughout project lifecycles. This position also contributes to strategic planning, continuous improvement of quality systems, and provides leadership to the estimating team. With a focus on best practice and a collaborative mindset, the Estimator will help the company meet its commercial goals by driving efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction within a competitive market

What you’ll need to succeed

• Minimum 4 years' experience in structural steel estimating
• Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and deliver accurate quotes
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with clients and stakeholders
• Experience managing budgets, variations, and tender submissions
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with structural steel products and fabrication processes
• Ability to lead and collaborate within a team-focused environment
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
