About the role

Kaizen Steel Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team in our Dandenong South office. This full-time role will play a crucial part in our continued growth and success within the construction industry.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labour, and equipment
• Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation to identify all necessary materials and labour requirements
• Collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project requirements and budgets
• Providing cost-saving recommendations and alternative solutions to improve project profitability
• Maintaining a comprehensive database of pricing, labour rates, and vendor information
• Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals
• Identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges throughout the estimating process

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Estimator, preferably within the construction industry
• Thorough understanding of structural steel design, fabrication, and installation processes
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in the use of estimating software and MS Office applications
• Knowledge of construction industry regulations, standards, and safety protocols
