About the position:

This senior leadership role is one of three key positions working together as a team to deliver the Capital Works Strategy and Delivery for NSW Parliament. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of Capital Works Programs at Parliament House and across 98 Electorate Offices statewide.

This critical role ensures client needs are met through the effective planning, coordination, and successful delivery of capital works projects that enhance the functionality, accessibility, and long-term value of the parliamentary building portfolio.

Based in NSW Parliament, the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales. About you:

You will have demonstrated experience in a senior program leadership role in the management of complex capital works programs. Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to successfully manage and lead the delivery of a significant capital program of works within timeframes, quality, procedural and financial parameters. You will hold the appropriate qualifications and/or demonstrated, equivalent relevant experience in project management, engineering, architecture, building/construction, heritage buildings.

1. Capital projects in public environments often involve unique operational constraints, risks, and sensitivities.
Describe a time when you had to manage competing priorities, complex stakeholder needs, or delivery risks within a constrained operating environment. What was your approach to mitigating impacts, ensuring value for money, and maintaining client trust?

2. Standardising processes and driving continuous improvement is critical to managing a large capital works program.
Outline the systems, frameworks, or tools you have introduced or enhanced to support better project delivery, reporting, and assurance. How did you engage your team and stakeholders in this change, and what were the results?
