Talent International is currently recruiting for a Contract Manager to work for a NSW Government client based in Parramatta. The position is a 6-month contract role with the possibility of being extended and paying between $900 - $1000 per day + Super.
Hours of work: 7 max hrs a day, 35 hrs per week (any overtime will be paid at a flat rate) - IF HOURLY
The primary purpose of the role
The Contract Manager will lead the management of contracts and act as the main point of contact in the ongoing management of commercial arrangements facilitated through reliable supplier and internal stakeholder relationships, to ensure compliance with agreements, to protect the interests of the client and to effectively resolve contractual issues.
Key accountabilities
- Manage the negotiation and agreement of commercial matters, including new contracts and contract amendments to deliver value for money and agreed business outcomes for the client.
- Manage changes over the life of the contract, ensure suppliers deliver to the requirements of the contract, and monitor and analyse supplier performance to ensure that goods and services are provided in line with agreed conditions.
- Establish deep and effective working relationships with the internal ticketing organisation to leverage the breadth of expertise in managing strategic supplier contracts.
- Manage the ongoing administration and variation of contracts, including compliance with agreed performance KPIs, to ensure that issues are identified and resolved on time.
- Establish and maintain the appropriate operating rhythm with contractors to ensure regular and proper contact is managed and coordinated with the contractor(s) on issues related to contract administration.
- Provide expert contractual advice and develop a framework to deliver comprehensive reports on a wide range of contracting issues for senior management to support effective decision-making.
- Monitor, analyse and review the effectiveness and operation of contracts to provide recommendations to improve supplier management processes and tools continuously.
Key knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing the negotiation and agreement of commercial matters and ongoing administration and variation of contracts.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement skills and the ability to communicate and maintain relationships with stakeholders with varying objectives and levels of expertise in contract management.
- Extensive contract management experience at a senior level with responsibility for commercial aspects, including contract preparation, negotiation and administration and dispute resolution.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent commercial business experience.
