πŸ’Ό The Opportunity: Team Leader – CALD Mental Health Services

This is a critical leadership role responsible for supporting the delivery of culturally safe, trauma-informed mental health services tailored to CALD communities. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of a skilled multidisciplinary team, guide service development, and champion best practices in mental health care.

You will also play a key role in community engagement, building trust and pathways to service access in hard-to-reach communities while working to improve systemic outcomes for those most vulnerable.

πŸ”‘ Key Responsibilities 🌟 Service Delivery & Program Development

Coordinate high-quality therapeutic services for individuals and groups from CALD backgrounds.

Lead the implementation and evaluation of programs aligned with best practice and community need.

Monitor caseloads, outcomes, and ensure consistent service standards across the team.

Embed a community development framework that brings services directly to communities.

🌟 Leadership & Team Culture

Supervise, mentor, and develop staff to build a strong, resilient, and empowered team.

Promote a workplace culture that is inclusive, values-based, and wellbeing-focused.

Facilitate regular team meetings, reflective practice, and professional development.

🌟 Quality, Compliance & Governance

Ensure services meet SCHADS Award conditions, funding body requirements, and relevant legislation.

Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures that support quality and compliance.

Contribute to continuous improvement strategies and reporting against KPIs.

🌟 Financial & Contract Management

Assist with the development and management of program budgets.

Monitor financial performance and ensure compliance with multiple funding agreements.

Support the preparation of business cases, tenders and funding applications.

🌟 Community Engagement & Sector Collaboration

Build trusting relationships with CALD communities to support engagement with mental health services.

Foster meaningful partnerships with other service providers, community leaders, and stakeholders.

Represent Centacare FNQ in sector meetings, working groups, and networks.

What skills can you bring?

We’re looking for a values-aligned leader who brings empathy, energy, and expertise to the role. You will have:

βœ… Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
βœ… Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in the community, health or mental health sector
βœ… Deep understanding of the strengths, barriers and needs of CALD individuals and communities
βœ… Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
βœ… Demonstrated success in program development, reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement
βœ… Proven ability to manage competing priorities and multiple funding streams
βœ… Current Driver’s Licence, Blue Card, Yellow Card, and National Police Check
