Your Opportunity

The Business Trainee will receive training, mentoring and gain work skills while completing a Certificate III in Business Administration. This is an excellent opportunity to join Local Government within the Southern Downs and Granite Belt Region. Working across three areas within the Financial Services Department, Expenditure/Payroll and Procurement.

Paid work time will be allocated for you to complete course work, along with on-the-job and formal training.

This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.

About the Department

The Financial Services Department falls within the Customer and Organisational Services directorate. The department is tasked with delivering high-level customer service experiences to Council's internal and external stakeholders aligned with identified outcomes in Council's Corporate and Operational Plans. The department ensures that Council remains financially sustainable while embracing innovation to drive outcomes for the Southern Downs community in an efficient and effective manner. The Department is responsible for the delivery of a variety of functions, including contracts and procurement, finance, Information Communication and Technology (ICT), revenue and business development.

Term: Temporary Full-time up to 12 months

Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight

Pay Level: The pay level for these positions is dependent on the age and education details of the successful candidate.

Indicative salary levels are between $1,280 to $2,200 per fortnight, plus superannuation and leave loading, in accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award.

Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland
