About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Graduate Registered Nurse to obtain a 12-month role within the Mental Health Services with placements within the Community setting. This promotes a fantastic opportunity to develop the broad range of skills required when working in a specialist mental health setting. The program extends for a 12-month period and is a full time (80 hours per fortnight) supernumerary position. The successful applicant will be supported by other experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses, in addition to this there will be regular Professional Development and Clinical Supervision to ensure development of specialist mental health nursing skills.

This position allows the successful applicant to develop skills in delivering a broad range of mental health assessments and interventions to consumers and their families, within a mental health environment.

The successful applicant will receive placements within the Community setting where they will develop a sound understanding of a range of assessments, and the provision of therapeutic interventions, with a focus on recovery, trauma informed care and family inclusiveness.

  • Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2
  • Salary Range: $72,404 - $96,608 per annum, pro rata + superannuation

What you bring

  • Registration with the APHRA, as a Registered Nurse
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for team collaboration
  • Strong understanding of legislation, contemporary frameworks, and recovery-oriented practices
  • Enrolment in, or aspiration to complete, postgraduate studies in Specialist Mental Health Nursing (preferred)
