The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a QA/QC Officer to join a project team in the Yatala Queensland area. This role would be a project based role working on site with our project management team at Yatala.
The proposed roster for the project will be a 10-4 roster earning a competitive package.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and implement a Project Quality Plan (PQP) outlining procedures, standards, and guidelines to ensure quality.
Define quality objectives and criteria in collaboration with the project team.
Establish inspection and testing schedules.
Ensure that materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications, industry standards, and codes.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality.
Verify that subcontractors and suppliers meet quality requirements.
Oversee and coordinate tests on materials (e.g., concrete, steel) and construction processes.
Ensure that tests are conducted per Australian and Client standards and results are documented.
Address non-compliance issues promptly and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of quality assurance documentation, including test reports, inspection checklists, and certifications. All Quality documentation will be tracked through a CMS – ‘Completion Logic’, and drawings through ‘Commnia’ software
Keep logs of non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless quality assurance processes.
Communicate quality requirements clearly to all stakeholders.
Participate in project progress meetings to provide quality-related updates.
Review and approve work completed by contractors to verify compliance with project standards.
Provide quality assurance input during project handover and final inspections.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position within Mining & Industrial Infrastructure
Relevant Training in Quality Assurance and Control (ISO9001:2016 Certified)
Must be able to read engineering drawings and specifications
Ability to manage schedules
Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2016 and associated quality standards
Highly organised and a strong communicator
Excellent data entry skills
Ability to analyse information
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to understand and follow verbally or written instructions
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills
Proven experience of producing correspondence and documents
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with other employees, managers and Client Stakeholders
Ability to evaluate and implement appropriate work methods
Assess situations and problem solve to find best outcome for all parties
Ability to observe proper safety precautions
Ability to complete tasks efficiently to high quality standards

Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in similar Project Engineering role.
Experience with Completions Management Systems (CMS) – ‘Completion Logic’, preferred
In depth understanding of ISO9001
In depth understanding of QBCC Regulations

Drivers License – C
