• EL1 Level - Cybersecurity Architect for Federal Gov

About the Role:

INDEX are once again working with one of our biggest Federal Government clients. We are seeking Senior Cybersecurity Architects who will be responsible for shaping, evaluating, validating, and ensuring the integrity of technical environments, solution designs, and implementations, aligning them with both established and emerging security best practices. They will play a key role in developing secure technical architecture and influencing security frameworks and protocols for our client.

Key Deliverables:

• Evaluate, test, and verify relevant security measures in alignment with the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Information Security Manual (ISM), and internal agency standards and procedures.
• Conduct detailed security risk analysis, document findings, and propose mitigations and enhancements to existing security processes, drawing on specialist knowledge and technical insight.
• Support system authorisation initiatives and related programs or projects by creating or reviewing key security documentation, such as Risk Assessments and System Security Plans.
• Build, maintain, and navigate complex stakeholder relationships to support the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
• Oversee and uphold agreed service delivery standards.
• Contribute to the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of security frameworks, including policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.

Skills Required:

• Proven expertise in applying risk management and information security frameworks, including the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Information Security Manual (ISM), and international standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002.
• Hands-on experience conducting security risk assessments and preparing security authorisation documentation to support systems in achieving Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Qualifications and skills include CISSP, CRISC, CISM, CISA, and experience with mainframe environments.

• Australian Citizen with a Baseline or NV1 Clearance
• Based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Canberra
• Prior experience working with Australian State or Federal Government
