Talent International is currently recruiting for a Principal Project Officer to join a Queensland Government department based in Brisbane CBD. This is an initial contract until 30 June 2025, with a 12 Month Extension attached.

This role offers a hybrid working environment (up to 2 days WFH) and an opportunity to contribute to an important internal transformation initiative aimed at improving regulatory review services.

About the Role
The Principal Project Officer will support the Program Manager in delivering a new Ways of Working (WoW) model within the Review and Appeals Unit of the Workers' Compensation Regulatory Services (WCRS). This program focuses on enhancing the unit's operational model by implementing key recommendations across People, Process, Technology, and Governance - starting with critical people and communication initiatives.

You will help drive sustainable change to meet legislative mandates and strategic objectives while prioritising staff wellbeing and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, tracking, and delivery of project scope
  • Prepare project documentation, reporting, and status updates
  • Track progress against project KPIs and timelines
  • Analyse data to ensure accuracy and support evidence-based reporting
  • Support the implementation of business process improvements
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and provide regular updates

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting projects in a government or regulatory setting
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing reports, briefs, and documentation for diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement capabilities
