Are you passionate about preparing nutritious meals that make a real difference in people's lives? We're looking for a Cook to join our aged care team and help us provide healthy, tasty, and comforting meals for our home-based clients.

This is a permanent part-time role 24hrs pw (Mon, Wed, Fri 6am - 2.30pm), located in Mossman.

About us

Goobidi offers a Community Care and Home Care suite of services to vulnerable and aged clients throughout the Douglas Shire and is also a registered Community Home Support Program (CHSP), and Queensland Community Support Program (QCS) provider. We empower clients to keep their independence by remaining in their own home through assistance with day to day essential needs and care, including meals, transportation, activities, social support, home modifications and maintenance.

About the Role:

In your position as a Cook, you'll play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our clients. You’ll be responsible for preparing and delivering quality meals that meet dietary requirements while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook meals in line with clients’ dietary needs and requirements

Manage the delivery of meals to clients' homes

Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment

Assist with menu planning in consultation with the coordinator

Manage stock levels and ensure proper stock control/rotation, labelling open food

Comply with licensing/permits/regulations for food provision

About You:

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) preferred

Food Safety Certification

Open QLD Driver’s License

Blue Card/Yellow Card

Solid experience in a similar role within aged care or healthcare (highly regarded)

Communication and teamwork skills

Ability to plan and organise work priorities
