Talking Matters is a division of the Torrens Health group and is a leading provider of speech pathology & occupational therapy services for children. We employ passionate, fun & committed staff to support children with a wide variety of developmental & learning needs aged from 0 to 18 years. Our services are provided either in our well resourced clinics in Elizabeth Downs & Christie Downs or within schools, preschools or homes and include individual & group therapy.
The role
Due to a continuing increase in clinicians and our commitment to ongoing growth, we are seeking a suitably skilled & friendly Senior Administrative Assistant to join our dedicated team in the south. You will provide a professional and welcoming face to our practice while helping to make sure everything is running smoothly for both families and clinicians in the background.
Enjoy a flexible working roster as a 0.6FTE. We are happy to negotiate working hours for the right candidate, including School hours
The position is more complex than people typically realise, but it's also very rewarding. To be successful you will be a friendly, positive thinking problem solver and computer savvy person who likes to be busy and can pick up new processes quickly.
About the role
Site Operational Tasks
Greeting and welcoming the families who use our service
Responding to telephone calls and emails
Assisting with queries about our services, bookings, Medicare and NDIA
Raising invoices and taking payments using a range of payment options
Managing clinician calendars and service bookings
Managing various data bases and reporting functions
Managing communication between clients and our team members
Assisting with debt collection
Keeping service agreements up to date with families for services currently being offered
Assisting to manage required documentation for off-site service provision
Essential skills & experience
Clear and effective communication skills both verbal and in writing
Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain before commencing
NDIS Worker Check clearance or willingness to obtain before commencing
Childsafe training certification or willingness to obtain prior to commencing
Competence in using Microsoft Programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Competence in using the range of technology typically found in an office environment
The ability to learn new skills quickly
Desirable skills & experience
Demonstrated experience interacting with young children and children with disabilities
Knowledge about allied health and the role of a speech pathologist and occupational therapist in helping children
Knowledge of the Medicare and NDIA systems
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team of professionals
