Full-time Senior Support Worker Job Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated, truly committed and passionate about making people's lives better. This position will see the Senior Support Worker (Day Services) mentoring and leadership within allocated day service (s). The role will lead, guide and mentor the team to ensure the programs are being delivered to a high standard of quality customer service. The Senior Support Worker will be working with the quality team to undertake service audits and ensure to implement corrective actions within identified timeframes in line with the NDIS practice standard requirements.
Reporting to the Day Services Manager, located in Eastern Suburbs with working hours Monday to Friday, office hours.
In your role you will be responsible for:
Model Inala’s leadership and culture expectations in your day-to-day operational responsibility with the direct L1 / L2 support staff
Ensuring participants’ community access spending is accounted for and reconciled Monitoring currency of all participant files, support documents filing within your service(s)
Ensuring incident reports are completed and any actions required by the Service Coordinator or management are implemented in line with the risk category and incident response for category 1, 2 and 3
Responding to and supporting direct support staff with incident / complaints
Ensuring compliance obligations for Inala are adhered to, including statutory record keeping and reporting, incident reporting, WHS, feedback and complaints management with regulatory compliance.
Working with the Service Manager to ensure operational practice / systems, processes and procedures are embedded into the services.
Completing and submitting Service Improvement Forms to the Service Manager for any identified service improvement
Monitoring and updating daily schedules and participant allocations
Assisting in the weekly claiming/attendance data is accurate against supports delivered
Assisting with timesheet data entry
Assisting in the preparation of information for the weekly highlight report
Supporting the Management with Inducting new staff in accordance with Inala policies and procedures
Liaising with the Management and as necessary Human Resources re: any performance, Industrial Relations or WHS matters
Ensuring that Inala is compliant with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and Practice Standards and other relevant legislative requirement standards.
Ensuring participant supports and services are delivered to a high level of service excellence based on participant goals aspirations and desired outcomes
Identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating continuous quality improvement activities which include accreditation processes, risk management, complaints management, incident management and reporting, health and safety etc.
Following relevant legislation and guidelines for disability services, including the NDIS Code of Conduct, the Disability Act and the NDIS Act.
Ensuring that all relevant reconciliations are conducted at a service level and any discrepancies are identified, recorded and escalated
Essential criteria
Certificate III or higher in Disability/Community Services or equivalent
Commitment to the human-centered Ethos and approaches of Inala
Full working rights in Australia
Fully vaccinated against COIVD-19 (3 doses)
Current Australian Driver Licence
Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
In-depth working knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), rules and operational guidelines and experience in coordinating a range of community-based supports and methods to achieve participant goals.
NDISWC clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Completion of the NDIS Online Workers Module
In-depth knowledge of Rudolf Steiner philosophy
Hands-on creative art experience like visual arts, music, dance and theatre
Desirable Criteria

Demonstrated ability to identify and provide a range of solutions to complex challenges, barriers and risks that face participants and work with stakeholders to manage such challenges.
