The Role
In the role of Inspector (Development Control & Network), you will provide expert technical advice and management on third party construction works and activities within the state-controlled road environment. You will also provide high level specialist technical advice and support to the district on corridor management matters.
Some of your responsibilities will include (including, but not limited to, please see role description for further details):
- Monitor and regulate the state-controlled road corridors to identify and stop any illegal works or activities and ensure compliance with legislative requirements and departmental policies.
- Undertake site inspections on third party delivered infrastructure, advertising devices, Public Utility Plant (PUP), access works on state-controlled roads in accordance with TMR standards. In addition, monitor, audit, evaluate, prepare reports and undertake actions where necessary in respect to conforming and non-conforming activities within the state-controlled road corridor.
- Provide technical advice in relation to construction activities and expertise relating to issue management.
- Advise the Principal Advisor (Corridor Management) of progress of developer projects, quality of works and problems that occur within the state-controlled road corridor.
- Review, assess and approve permits to carry out works within the state-controlled road corridor.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
- Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will be required to be completed.
- Must be eligible to work in Australia.
Desirable qualifications and conditions
- Certificate III Civil Construction, or recognised equivalence
- Certificate III Civil Construction Maintenance, or recognised equivalence
- Certificate IV Civil Construction Supervision, or recognised equivalence
- Traffic Management Design (formerly Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices MUTCD Level 4) or ability to obtain.
