Position Overview
We are currently seeking qualified Tax Accountants & Accountants to join our dynamic team.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts, and SMSFs.
Manage and prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST, and FBT returns.
Analyse financial data to help clients minimise tax liabilities and support their business growth.
Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring compliance with current tax legislation.
Provide proactive tax planning advice, identifying opportunities for clients to optimise their tax position.
Directly engage with clients to understand and address their unique financial needs.
Conduct research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving tax laws and regulations.
Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), ASIC, and other government agencies to resolve queries and disputes.
Oversee bookkeeping and payroll management using Xero and associated applications.
Support clients with budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
Mentor and train junior accounting staff.
Assist with marketing initiatives to expand our client base.
Proactively contribute to client-facing advisory services, fostering long-term relationships.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in public practice accounting.
Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
Commenced or completed CPA/CA qualification
Extensive experience with Xero and Microsoft Office (essential).
Comprehensive understanding of Australian tax legislation and its practical application.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of simplifying complex tax concepts.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
