About the Role:
WorkPac is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and technically minded professional to join Rio Tinto’s State Agreements and Approvals team as Operations & Development Advisor.Within this role, you will gain technical approvals knowledge and use your interpersonal skills to work with a team of experienced professionals in coordinating approval of internal ground disturbing permits to support Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Coordinating the effective delivery of environmental and other Government approvals for Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore operations

Administering and managing the Approvals Request process for assigned suite of projects/sites.

Managing multiple stakeholders and facilitating resolution of issues to enable authorisation of Approvals Requests to execute RT activities.

Issuing Approvals Requests through the dedicated Approvals Requests Coordination System.

Coordinating advice to the business on approvals requirements and articulating the impacts sensitivities may have on the timing of approvals delivery.

Enhancing and improving systems and processes to effectively report on approvals updates.

Skills & Experience Required:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

Strong organisation and written communication skills

Experience in working within approvals and/or GIS systems is preferred

C Class Driver’s Licence.
