We are looking for a passionate and driven Patient Safety & Quality Specialists to join our dedicated Patient Safety and Quality Team. Our team is at the forefront of ensuring the highest standards of care, fostering a culture of safety, and continuously enhancing practices to support our frontline teams in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

What you’ll do:
As a Patient Safety & Quality Specialist, you will:
- Implement and support the clinical governance framework approved by St John WA
- Develop and promote strategies that drive a culture of patient safety and quality across the organisation
- Oversee Clinical Incident reporting systems, ensuring timely reviews, analyses, and follow-up actions to reduce harm and prevent recurrence
- Monitor and analyse patient safety data, identifying trends to drive evidence-based improvements
- Provide education and training to team members on patient safety principles and reporting systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards (e.g., National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards)
- Lead audits, quality reviews, and patient safety initiatives to ensure continual improvement
- Partner with the Quality Improvement team and collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to identify improvement areas and develop actionable plans to mitigate risks
- Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders to support patient safety and quality objectives
- Participate in multidisciplinary committees and working groups focused on patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management
What you’ll need:
Essential
- A degree in a relevant healthcare field (e.g., paramedicine, nursing, healthcare management, public health)
- Current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data and prepare reports with actionable insights
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
- Demonstrated knowledge of National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards
- Experience leading change and fostering a culture of safety in complex clinical environments
- Proven understanding of patient safety, risk management practices, and quality standards
