We are seeking a motivated and passionate Graduate Agronomist to join our team in rural NSW. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in agricultural research, crop management, and sustainable farming practices. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced agronomists to provide support to local farmers, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that enhance productivity and sustainability in agriculture.

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, or a related field.

Demonstrated understanding of soil science, crop physiology, and pest management principles (even if vacation placement).

Proficiency in data analysis software including but not limited to MS suite, excel, agronomic software for mapping and processing, recommendation writing to a high standard and other project related platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with farmers to assess crop conditions and provide tailored agronomic advice.

Assist in conducting field trials and research projects to improve crop yields and soil health.

Collect and analyse data related to soil health, crop performance, and pest management.

Align with PY Ag values and KPIs that drive success and be prepared to manage own performance against these, as well as regular feedback.

Lead the technology growth and innovation of the business in all systems, optimisation and efficiency.

Support the development and implementation of sustainable farming practices.

Stay informed on the latest agricultural trends, technologies, and best practices.

Participate in extension activities, workshops, and community engagement initiatives.

Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations based on research findings and agronomic recommendations.
