We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Agronomist to join our team in rural NSW. In this leadership role, you will provide expert agronomic advice, drive sustainable on-farm outcomes, and play a central role in mentoring early-career agronomists. You will lead client-facing agronomic services, design and oversee research trials, and bring a strategic lens to technology integration and productivity across a range of farming systems. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence the future of agriculture, both through hands-on work with growers and by supporting internal capability across the team.

What We’re Looking For

Proven and deep experience in agronomy with a strong understanding of soil science, crop production systems, and integrated pest and disease management.

A skilled leader with a desire to mentor, coach, and support graduate and junior agronomists.

Highly capable in the collecting, analysing, and interpreting agronomic data to support evidence-based decisions.

Comfortable working independently and managing client relationships with professionalism and care.

Proactive in staying up to date with agricultural innovations, research, and technologies.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging a variety of stakeholders. Including but not limited to strong tech skills in all systems, processes and communications.

Aligned with the values of PY Ag and confident in taking ownership of personal performance, including KPIs and continuous feedback.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, or a related field.

Must have 5+ years of demonstrated success in providing high-level agronomic advice to clients across broadacre or mixed farming systems.

Experience in leading or coordinating field trials and applied research projects.

Proficiency in agronomic and mapping software, Microsoft Suite (especially Excel), and report writing to a high standard.

Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and sustainability principles in agricultural practice.

Strategic thinking, time management, and the ability to balance technical delivery with mentoring and team development.
