Our Client

DVConnect is a leading provider of evidence-based and trauma-informed services for people impacted by all forms of personal violent crime, including those who use and experience violence in their relationships. Their purpose is to create pathways for a life free from violence and fear.

This opportunity is a temporary contract with DV Connect, working either through Labour Hire with ProCare Australia or on a Fixed Term contract with DV Connect directly.

The Role

The Immediate Response Practitioner at DVConnect will service the WomensLine based in a central Brisbane office across an 8am-6pm roster. This role is casual, commencing ASAP until the end of financial year with potential extension. The successful candidate can work between 15-30 hours from Monday to Friday

The Immediate Response Practitioner (IRP) role serves as the primary point of contact for individuals seeking crisis support, information, and guidance. Immediate Response Practitioners are integral members of the Womensline team, contributing to the delivery of domestic and family violence support to women across Queensland, in alignment with the operating framework and principles of DVConnect. Key responsibilities include;

respond to all incoming calls with compassion and a strong understanding of intersectionality and vulnerabilities.

provide professional, culturally sensitive, and non-judgemental responses and, conduct initial risk and needs assessments to identify suitable support pathways.

immediate action of inbound and outbound referral requests.

ensure quality, timeliness, and accuracy of work (e.g., concise, and accurate database entries and case notes).

Role Requirements

Completed tertiary qualification in Behavioural Science, Social Work, Human Services, or other relevant fields acceptable by DVConnect.

Knowledge and understanding of intersectional feminist practice and other relevant practice frameworks used to respond to the gendered nature of violence against women and children.

Demonstrate knowledge and analysis of the effects, causes and dynamics of domestic and family violence.

Professional, culturally sensitive and non-judgement interpersonal skills to maintain information accuracy and client safety (e.g., database entries).

Exceptional and effective interpersonal, conflict resolution and consultation skills .

Experience (or a strong understanding) in providing supportive and culturally safe spaces for diverse groups, including First Nations peoples, individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with a diagnosed disability, and members of the LGBTQI+ community.

Competent IT literacy and telephone communication skills with a proven ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.

Current paid (P) Blue Card and willingness to complete National Crime Check facilitated by DVConnect (employment is subject to satisfactory checks, incl. reference checks).

Valid photo ID.

Right to work in Australia.

Commitment to attend all shifts from Brisbane office.

Remuneration and Benefits

For casual Labour Hire staff - ProCare Category 3 rates - $53.85 per hour + 11.5% Superannuation.

For Fixed Term Part Time direct hires of DVC - SCHADS Award Level 4 - $43.51 per hour + 11.5% Superannuation.
