About the role:
The Coordinator Environmental Planning will lead the Environmental Planning team to deliver effective specialist urban planning and environmental advice. This role will be responsible for coordinating the completion and implementation of strategic urban and environmental studies such as the Local Strategic Planning Statement, local housing strategy, employment land strategy, applying environmental planning and protection legislation and promoting sustainable planning outcomes across Campbelltown. This role will also see you coordinating environmental and heritage assessments for development applications and planning proposals, and providing advice to the public, developers, and internal stakeholders while maintaining an open approach for continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
Tertiary Qualifications in Town/Urban & Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, Environmental Management, Environmental science or other related qualifications
Extensive job related experience and knowledge of town planning concepts, urban development principles and environmental assessment frameworks.
Effective leadership skills across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver effective planning outcomes
Extensive experience working on strategic planning projects.
Highly developed skills to formulate, implement and monitor procedures/processes and policies affecting the section.
Effective analytical and innovative problem solving skills with a highly developed ability to interpret relevant legislation
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, organisational and time management skills.
Highly developed written communication and research skills to present concise and accurate reports, as well as preparing technical papers, conference and seminar presentations and grant applications.
Effective decision making, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Current Class C Driver Licence.
