About the job – Communication Manager
ICN NT plays a pivotal role in promoting and facilitating major projects and driving economic development across the Northern Territory. Our clients and projects cover all major sectors including Government, Defence, Oil & Gas, construction, mining, and renewables.
The Communication Manager role leads the strategic direction and implementation of ICN NT’s brand presence and communication with diverse stakeholders across the Territory.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, the Communications Manager will lead and deliver all marketing and communication activities for ICN NT. This is a standalone role with no direct reports, offering full autonomy to shape and manage ICN NT’s messaging and content across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of ICN NT’s strategic approach to communication and marketing.
Proactively identify opportunities to promote the work of ICN NT through quality storytelling and creative content in line with the goals and objectives of the business.
Manage external communication platforms including social media pages and electronic newsletter distributions.
Promote ICN NT’s key messages through a suite of professional collateral (including but not limited to reports, presentations, client proposals, social media and media briefs) to clients, the Board Directors and external stakeholders.
Project manage external contractors when required including graphic designers, event planners, media agencies and digital agencies.
Develop basic day-to-day visual communication tools when required using Canva (or InDesign)
Work closely with the General Manager and CEO to implement stakeholder engagement strategies and monitor communication performance.
Assist the wider team in planning and delivering industry events, ensuring content aligns with ICN’s strategic goals.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you will be able to address all or most of the following:
Proven experience in communication, marketing and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to think strategically and apply the local political and economic context of the Northern Territory to a well considered communication approach.
Experience in developing creative content, or the ability to effectively brief and project manage suppliers who do so.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
A proactive approach to enhancing brand visibility and engagement across various platforms.
Strong attention to detail and copywriting ability to review and edit content for accuracy and consistency.
Familiarity with social media platforms and experience managing campaigns and advertisements.
