About the Opportunity:

The business is undergoing significant growth and is looking to appoint a CAD/CAM and CNC Leading Hand to join our manufacturing team on day shift (6:00am-2:30pm Mon-Thu & 12:00am-12:00pm Fri).

Position Duties:

To program, setup and operate the CNC (lathe, mill and laser cutter) and any other fabrication machines as per production plan;

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements;

Load raw materials and tooling into machines; monitor machine operations for accuracy and efficiency;

Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges);

Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain part quality and dimensions;

Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and quality assurance to improve processes;

Maintain accurate documentation of production output and quality checks;

Setup and oversee all jobs to ensure safety, efficiency and quality;

Assist in preventive maintenance and minor repairs on CNC equipment;

To facilitate training of machine operators to run jobs once programmed; and

Follow safe working processes and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

Qualifications in CAD/CAM, CNC programming or relevant mechanical trade;

3-5 years’ experience in setting and operating as Machinist / CAD/CAM Programmer;

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and decide most efficient method of fabrication, utilise CAD/CAM software to create CNC programs;

Okuma, Hartford and HaaS experience is an advantage;

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise workloads and plan effectively;

Must be able to work alone or without supervision;

Must be able to read and write English; and

Forklift licenses highly regarded.
