Salary $73,606 plus super
Aspen specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of quality furniture and joinery solutions throughout Australia. Due to the ongoing expansion of its business, it is in need of a Machine Operator to assist on all facets of its long-standing wood machining business.
The Role/Position Description
As a key member of the team, the successful individual will be actively involved in undertaking the following responsibilities in various tasks including:
Operating and setting up various woodworking machines, including but not limited to CNC routers, panel saws, thicknessers, and planers.
Receiving, reading and interpreting job specifications, plans, route sheets, cutting lists etc.
Studying drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine specifications.
Applying varnish, shellac, lacquer, stains and paint to surfaces and polishing and waxing finished surfaces.
Planning work and material workflows to achieve maximum efficiencies through machine shop.
Determining tooling and machine requirements along with sequence of operations.
Unloading and receiving inbound materials for projects.
Ensuring the quality and accuracy of finished products.
Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
Assist with maintaining the machines to ensure they are kept in a running state.
Operate machines to ensure maximum capacity is maintained through production.
Minimise the risk of board damage by keeping board stock neat, in order and labelled and is handled appropriately whilst processing.
Ensure output capacity is maximised by keeping machines fed with product.
Ensure that machine or product issues are identified in a timely manner and are reported to the Factory Manager to minimise potential effects on established schedules.
WHS responsibilities Uphold all WHS policies and procedures
Monitor risks and report safety issues immediately
Keep area clean and monitor hazardous obstructions
Ensure tools are maintained appropriately and are used correctly
Minimise incidents/injuries by adhering to Aspen WHS policies and procedures and reporting any immediately to the Factory Manager.
Personal qualifications
Great attention to detail;
Physically capable and strong;
A good team player;
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience.
Must hold working rights in Australia.
