- Location Parramatta - Flexible working arrangements available across NSW, with occasional travel to Sydney metro locations required.

- Competitive remuneration ranging from $125,693 to $138,510 plus super & annual leave loading.
About the role
The Senior Procurement Capability Officer plays a crucial role in enhancing the procurement capabilities of Department of Education staff by designing and overseeing training programs that align with NSW Government policies and regulations. This includes conducting assessments to identify specific skill gaps, developing tailored training materials, and facilitating engaging workshops both in-person and online.
The Senior Procurement Capability Officer uses their skills and experience working within the NSW Government (preferably) to ensure compliance with frameworks like the NSW Procurement Policy Framework and the Local Government Act while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. They measure the effectiveness of training through feedback and performance indicators, collaborate with various agencies to align programs with broader strategies, and provide ongoing support and resources to procurement professionals. Additionally, the Senior Procurement Capability Officer maintains detailed records to comply with reporting requirements and encourages a learning culture by staying informed on industry trends, ultimately balancing standardized training with the unique needs of different departments.

About you
- Dynamic procurement professional with a strong grasp of NSW Government procurement policies, frameworks, systems, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Proven experience in procurement, training, or a related role within the public sector. Experience in designing and delivering training programs is preferred.
- Skilled in identifying skill gaps and customising training materials for government agencies.
- Collaborative team player focused on aligning training initiatives with government objectives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality customer service and collaborative success.
- Committed to continuous improvement, constantly seeking opportunities to refine procedures and enhance performance standards.
- Passion for supporting educational priorities and ready to lead initiatives for efficient assessment of applications in a complex and evolving landscape.
- Proactive leader with dedication to quality and service, eager to make a meaningful impact in our organisation.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience in NSW Government procurement.
- Willingness to travel across New South Wales.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
