Our Water Deliverables team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer Program Coordinator who will be tasked with working across teams to support coordination and communication of key statutory water management work programs delivery. The role works closely with the Manager and the Directors in Water as well as other areas to manage, coordinate and delegate a range of administrative and project coordination tasks in the context of a high pressure, politically sensitive and confidential environment.

The role is currently primarily responsible for:

  • Providing project coordination support to the Minimum Inflows Project – tasks include general project support including scheduling, running team meetings, actioning communications activities, reporting etc.
  • Supporting a Climate Change in Water Planning project – providing technical subject matter expertise support and informing linkages between key water management reform projects
  • Collaborating with many teams within and outside of Water Group, leading the drafting of a Water Sharing Plan Amendments Package – working across multiple agencies, developing drafting instructions for the legal contractor, developing package support documents for consultation and approval process
  • Overarching team support – input to other team projects, developing and applying project tracking systems, file management support, application of program logic to team work tasks

About You

The ideal candidate will hold demonstrated knowledge and experience in:

  • Tertiary qualifications in hydrology, integrated water management, planning and/or equivalent experience
  • Statutory water planning requirements and associated processes relating to water management
  • Project management skills to support integration, coordination and communication of work programs and program delivery
  • Delivery in the context of a high pressure, politically sensitive and confidential environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships and networks to support work delivery
  • Respond and manage coordinate urgent requests for information
