Contract Business Analyst – Finance System Migration

Initial 6-Month Contract | Hybrid (3 Days In-Office, Sydney)

We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a large-scale finance system migration project, working closely with both business and technical teams to ensure a smooth and successful transition. This is a hands-on, end-to-end BA role that will see you embedded in the project team from discovery through to delivery.
You’ll be responsible for understanding business processes, uncovering and documenting requirements, and ensuring data is accurately and effectively migrated from one finance platform to another.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the business analysis across the full project lifecycle of a major finance system migration;
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and documentation to capture detailed business and functional requirements;
• Analyse existing processes and data structures to support effective system migration and future-state design;
• Work closely with finance teams to validate data needs and ensure integrity through migration phases;
• Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and technical teams to ensure alignment across workstreams; and
• Contribute to test planning, user acceptance testing, and change management activities.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on data migration projects, specifically involving finance systems;
• Strong process mapping, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills;
• The ability to translate complex business needs into clear, structured requirements;
• Confidence working with multiple stakeholders across finance, operations, and IT;
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment; and
