About the opportunity:

Position: Senior Medical Officer - Hospital in the Home Program

Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 56 hours per fortnight

Location: Townsville University Hospital

The role of Senior Medical Officer (SMO) Hospital in the Home is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of the THHS. This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.

  • Salary range: $87.25 to $120.51 p.h. (L13 – L25)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications (qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and / or eligible for registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.) and proof of registration (AHPRA).
  • All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) by the THHS Credentialing and SoCP committee. All appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance.
