About the Engagement & Advancement Department:
The Engagement and Advancement department is responsible for positioning, promoting and protecting QIMR Berghofer, as well as raising vital funding through philanthropic endeavours, corporate partnerships and community engagement to support the remarkable life-saving work of the Institute’s researchers. The team is focused on delivering high quality media, marketing, government relations, community engagement, communications, events, fundraising and philanthropy activities, aligned to the Institute’s strategic objectives.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
This role will see you take responsibility for the peer-to-peer fundraising activity at QIMR Berghofer. As the Community Fundraising Officer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with community fundraisers, supporting and inspiring them to success through your knowledge of fundraising, quality resources and personalised training. You will think long term, grow community driven fundraising activities and events, and cultivate a passionate portfolio of fundraisers, while working in a team that is collaborative and effective.
Applications are invited for an experienced Fundraising professional to lead and manage the Raiser’s Edge (RE NXT) Database.
The following duties will apply:
- Support the Corporate and Community Fundraising Associate in developing and implementing a peer-to-peer and community fundraising strategy that enables our supporters to fundraise for QIMR in engaging, fun and flexible ways.
- Provide advice, training, Institute resources, such as; authority to fundraiser letters, logos and other materials, as well as, support and motivation to our community and peer to peer fundraisers.
- Attend external peer-to-peer and community events, fundraising activities and meetings, to support activity, conduct presentations, or provide resources as required.
- Develop an annual plan to maximise income from community fundraising and fundraisers.
- Maintain and update the community fundraising events calendar.
- Ensure accurate entry of fundraiser and donation information and appropriate updating of records as required, including recording of conversation notes with fundraisers in RE NXT.
- Maintain Third-Party Fundraising platforms in use (including In-Memory donations).
- Work with the Engagement and Advancement Events team to coordinate resourcing and support for QIMR supported community fundraising events and activities.
- Work with other Engagement and Advancement staff to raise the Institute’s profile as a charity of choice.
About you:
To be successful for this role, you will be able to demonstrate a minimum of two years’ previous expertise in a similar fundraising role, or supporter relations role, in a non-profit environment. You will have working knowledge of peer-to-peer platform management, such as Raisley, Fundraisin or other Third-Party platforms. A bright, enthusiastic approach to building relationships, encouraging and supporting others to achieve their best in community fundraising is essential for this role.

Remuneration: Salary range is $88,923 to $97,924 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, continuing appointment.
