One of those systems is payroll, and we’re looking for a capable and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team and ensure our people are paid accurately, on time, and in line with legislation.

About the role

As Payroll Officer, you’ll manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing for 340+ employees. You’ll work independently while also supporting our Payroll Manager—and step into that role as needed during periods of leave.

This role sits plays an essential part in delivering timely and compliant payroll services. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate calculations, maintaining employee records, meeting reporting requirements, and responding to employee enquiries with professionalism and care.

Key responsibilities

Manage full-function payroll processing, including leave accruals, tax, superannuation, and terminations

Maintain accurate payroll data and employee records in Micropay

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, and internal policies

Prepare and lodge payroll-related statutory reports (e.g., PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax)

Provide responsive support to employees, managers, HR and Finance teams

What we’re looking for

Minimum 3 years of payroll experience in a medium to large organisation

Solid understanding of payroll legislation, tax, and superannuation obligations

Experience with Micropay is highly desirable

High attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to work autonomously

Excellent communication skills and a professional, solutions-focused approach
