Your new role

We are currently seeking a motivated and collaborative Project Officer to join our planning and sustainability team. In this position, you will play a key role in coordinating the development and implementation of planning and sustainability projects and initiatives. You will offer strategic support for large-scale projects and take the lead on smaller-scale projects and general inquires offering clear, helpful guidance. You will also support the team with data collection and analysis to ensure that we are on track to achieve our sustainability objectives.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and facilitate project communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Assist in developing business cases, project initiation documents, and implementation strategies
  • Coordinate project plans and track activities against project schedules
  • Provide executive support for committees and stakeholder meetings
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects
  • Conduct research and data analysis to support planning and sustainability initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with university and legislative reporting obligations
  • Manage and update Curtin’s Sustainability website and contribute to the Sustainability Strategy
  • Promote Curtin’s reputation as a leader in sustainability

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant degree with experience in project coordination OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to implement and monitor project activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing reports
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • A team player who can collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability compliance frameworks (NGERS, NPI, Green Star tools, etc.)
  • Experience in a tertiary environment (desirable)
  • Knowledge of reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and documents (Desirable)

  2. Willing to undertake a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
