Kaiko Design is a boutique interior design studio based in Surry Hills, known for colour-rich, highly personalised residential interiors. Our work is thoughtful, detail-driven and grounded in both creative exploration and strong systems. We're a small but busy team working on high-end homes — and we’re looking for a capable, proactive Studio Assistant to help keep everything running smoothly.

About the Role

This is a part-time (3–4 days/week) hybrid role combining Executive Assistant and Studio Coordinator responsibilities. You'll support the studio director (and eventually another senior designer), managing communications, schedules, samples, suppliers and admin.

The ideal candidate is organised, calm under pressure, and comfortable managing up. You don’t need a background in design — in fact, this may suit someone from a corporate or agency environment looking to bring their experience to a more creative, boutique setting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage inboxes, phone calls and calendars

Liaise with clients, suppliers and contractors professionally and promptly

Source and organise material samples, finishes and supplier quotes

Assist with admin tasks, procurement and presentation prep

Attend client meetings or site visits on occasion

Support the director and broader team with day-to-day operations

What We're Looking For

Strong organisation, time management and initiative

Clear and professional communication style

Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and ChatGPT (or a willingness to learn)

Based in Sydney, with 1–2 days/week in our Surry Hills studio

Someone personable, efficient and unflappable — who brings calm and clarity to a fast-moving environment

Bonus (Not Essential)

Experience in property, design, architecture or creative industries

Interest in interior design (but no formal qualifications required)
