As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Mining Analyst to support our Business Development and leadership teams. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, family-owned company with a strong team, positive culture and ample opportunities for personal development.
Reporting into the Business Development Executive, the Mining Analyst will be based in Perth Head Office on a permanent full-time basis (Monday - Friday). The successful candidate will assist in creating a comprehensive Mining and Exploration Database to guide the Group’s expansion and investment decision.
You will be mentored within the Business Development team but have direct access to Senior Management and our extensive list of Top Tier Clients.
This role includes but will not be limited to
Building and maintaining our mining and exploration model to assist decision making for our Senior Management and Business Development teams throughout WA, SA, NT & QLD, incorporate geology, ownership, previous mining results, and other relevant factors.
Scenario Planning and Modelling for mining service contracts, operations and business development opportunities
Cross-functional engagement with key internal and external stakeholders including being part of the negotiation team for client contracts and investment opportunities
Assisting the founders’ family office in identifying and analysing key investment opportunities.
Engaging stakeholders to align business objectives and present findings to Senior Management
Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, data and mining operations teams, to ensure that mining services contract terms align with business objectives and manage operational and commercial risks.
Review the daily, weekly, and monthly reports for compliance and ensure the reports are integral, completed accurately, and submitted on time.
Identify and mitigate operational and commercial risks associated with contracts and projects
Support contract management system to track contract status, performance, renewals, and obligations and ensure compliance with mining services contract terms and conditions.
Present easy-to-interpret reports identifying trends and insights that effectively translate complex data to support effective decision-making.
Engage with a wide range of internal and external customers to improve and promote the effective management, analysis and reporting of data.
Work with department managers to create data collection guidelines for internal use.
Support customer and internal business improvement efforts through analysis and process evaluations to identify opportunities and guide strategic decisions.
Analyse historical and customer data to anticipate and plan for operational needs.
Provide recommendations for optimizing workflows, resource allocation, and operational strategies.
Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor performance to provide valuable insights for strategic planning.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of processes, procedures, and business requirements.
Ensure alignment between business operations and IT systems, recommending technology solutions to streamline processes.
Act as a subject matter expert on business operations, providing support to senior management with data-driven insights to inform key decisions.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying new methodologies, tools, and techniques to improve business analysis and reporting.
What do we need?
2- 3 years post graduate experience working in an Advisory role or Business Analyst role (mining & resources exposure desirable)
Demonstrated experience performing complex analytical, problem-solving activities
Exhibit innovative thinking
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word) and Business Intelligence Tools
Experience working with HubSpot CRM System is desirable
Possess a completed bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration, law, or a related field or equivalent experience
Existing exposure within in commercial, mine planning, and mine analyst roles is highly desirable
Extensive demonstrated experience in supporting services contract management, with experience in drafting, negotiating, and administering
Technology savvy
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
