Ampersand have partnered with one of Australia’s most prestigious professional services firms who are looking to appoint a high-impact Finance Business Analyst to their dynamic team.

What You’ll Do:

• Financial Analysis & Insights: Provide critical financial analysis, insights, and advice to the leadership team to support strategic decision-making.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support budgeting, forecasting, and the development of business plans to drive financial performance.
• Commercial Performance Analysis: Assess financial performance by analysing fees, costs, margins, and profitability across national, state, practice, client, and project levels.
• Scenario & Financial Modelling: Conduct scenario analysis, financial modelling, data mining, and reconciliation to evaluate performance and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Pricing & Matter Planning: Assist with pricing strategies and matter plans for major pitches to ensure competitive positioning and profitability.
• Management Reporting: Deliver accurate and timely management reports to key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
• Data Extraction & Automation: Develop and optimise SQL queries to extract and manage data from multiple databases, improving efficiency and reducing manual processing.
• Dashboard & Power BI Development: Design and maintain financial dashboards while supporting Power BI data model optimisation, ensuring accurate and consistent reporting.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Business Development, HR, and IT teams to gather insights, enhance business case development, and align financial initiatives.
• Process & Profitability Improvements: Identify opportunities to enhance productivity, profitability, and resource utilisation through data-driven strategies.

What You’ll Bring:

• 3 years’ experience in a Finance Business Analyst role, ideally within an established financial or professional services environment.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to engage with partners and stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
