Qualships Pty Ltd is a highly specialised Marine service operators undertaking all forms of marine surveying services including cargo related vessel surveying, Internal audits, Hull and machinery repairs electrical repairs and troubleshooting, technical inspections and report writing.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Fitter/ Machinist with potential leading hand qualities to join our rapidly growing team. Initial focus will be hands on running the day-to-day duties, working closely with supervision and management to carry out the successful completion of site awarded contracts. This is a fantastic opportunity for career progression and would strongly suit a self-motivated person.

Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to read technical drawings and schematics

Proficient in using hand tools and power tools

Excellent problem-solving skills

Good communication skills

Responsibilities:

Install new machinery and equipment according to specifications

Conduct regular maintenance checks on existing machinery

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a timely manner

Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of equipment

Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot complex problems

Qualifications:

Associate degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or related field

Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter

Certification in relevant technical training programs is preferred

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Type: Full-time, 1 year with potential to long-term employment for right candidate basis job requirement

Salary: $80,000.00 -$100,000 per year
