About VACCHO
VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.

We have 33 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. We lead and support Aboriginal Community Control and the broader health and social services sector to deliver transformative health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities in Victoria. About the role

The Senior Communications Officer will support the Executive Manager in providing strategic direction for the CDS team, focusing on optimising workflow processes and systems. They will also lead the development of high-impact communication strategies for VACCHO’s Centres of Excellence and major work projects.

In addition, the Senior Communications Officer will be responsible for mutli-media content and editorial support across a range of projects such as flagship publications, resources, training materials, and website content. This includes maintaining consistency with the VACCHO’s style guide and ensuring all content is clear, concise, and accessible to a diverse audience.

The role requires close collaboration with various teams across VACCHO to ensure complex and culturally important resources are user-friendly and to drive impactful communication efforts across multiple platforms.

Essential skills/experiences

To be successful in this role, you will need 5 years' experience in a relevant role and have outstanding writing skills and experience across channels including web, print and social.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply as your cultural and lived experiences are central to the work we do.
