An expanding, long standing, modern accounting practice in Mackay, is seeking an Intermediate OR Senior Accountant to join their Business Services and Tax team.

The business has been a staple in the local community for decades, and is a firm who pride themselves on providing a 5-star service to clients through high quality work, common-sense advice and collaborating as a team to best serve the local community.

About the Opportunity:

The firm are seeking an Intermediate or Senior Accountant to bolster their Business Services team, which stands at 20 strong. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with 3+ years of experience within an Australian accounting firm, coupled with CA/CPA qualifications, or in progress, to work on a variety of challenging, high quality clients, develop your advisory skills, and grow your career in a firm known for promoting from within.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging in industry sector & turnover

Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for all entity types (excluding SMSF)

Div 7A, CGT and FBT Calculations

Advisory services with client contact from the day one (if senior)

Liaison with the ATO

Maintenance and preparation of clients financial records

Excellent client relationship and rapport-building skills

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in an Australian accounting firm

Sound technical accounting skills across all entity types

CA/CPA qualifications in progress, or willing to complete

Proven experience in an Australian accounting firm

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
