Team Purpose
AusCycling’s Clubs and Community Pillar is responsible for building, supporting, and enhancing the capabilities of both the Club network and associated community organisations. There is a strategic focus on growing the number of people riding and cycling with Clubs and through programs like AusBike.
The team is responsible for developing the network through delivering coach and official education programs and initiatives, and State and Territory based events, competitions and pathways
Position Purpose
With a focus on club development, participation growth and events, the Operations Lead will work closely with the Territory Operations Manager to assist the delivery of the Northern Territory Operation Plans. Working across all disciplines including Road, Track, Para-cycling, mountain bike and BMX, a primary focus of the role is to ensure highest quality rider experiences.
Responsibilities
The Territory Operations Lead will support the ‘on-the-ground’ delivery of AusCycling’s Club development, participation and sport initiatives.
Club and Community Development
Lead the club development program delivery in the NT.
Work in partnership with Clubs to deliver programs and initiatives that grow community participation across all types of bike riding.
Work with Club and community coaches to deliver school, community and club programs.
Deliver participation programs where required.
Assist Clubs to set up come and try programs and other participation initiatives.
Community Workforce Development
Support the administration and delivery of workforce development initiatives.
Events
With the support of the host club and key officials,
o Deliver the NT BMX Racing Championships.
o Support the delivery of the NT BMX Racing Territory Series.
Support event sanctioning, including coordination of the state / territory race calendar.
Liaise with key event delivery partners including clubs, private organisers, suppliers and contractors, ensuring that event agreements are in place with event partners.
Other
Support the delivery of key pathway projects including NT Development Academies.
Take part in NT Sport and Recreation forums and consultations.
Develop and retain positive working relationships with schools, clubs, third party providers and councils.
Role model AusCycling organisational values, demonstrating a high standard of behaviour, including respect for, and collaboration with others at all times.
Adhere to, uphold and promote the principles of AusCycling policies and operating procedures.
Other duties as directed to support the overall success of AusCycling, in support of event planning and management as directed from time to time.
Key Performance Indicators
Achieve the agreed targets for participation numbers across all participation products and channels to market
Consistently Positive feedback from event host clubs
Feedback from event and program participants.
Positive engagement with NT Government.
Consistently uphold the AusCycling organisational values.
Ability to work autonomosusly and within a team.
Effectively balance a high work volume of competing events, across a variety of stakeholder interests, to deliver assigned activities on time, and within budget.
Ensure all safety requirements relating to participants, volunteers, spectators, and others in attendance at events are met.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualifications highly desirable (Event Management or related field), or a commensurate level of event management experience.
First Aid qualifications required.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, in a professional and ethical manner.
Experience/knowledge in cycling specific event delivery/coordination is desirable.
Past proven experience working with stakeholders, event workforce, contractors and suppliers in event environments.
Excellent time management, organisation and planning skills, with an ability to manage complex tasks, challenging projects and competing deadlines concurrently.
Proven ability to work as part of a team.
Excellent computer literacy and administrative skills.
Excellent record keeping, documentation, and report writing skills.
Sound understanding and experience implementing work health and safety, and risk management practices.
Knowledge of the sport of cycling, and an understanding of contemporary issues and opportunities for the Australian sports sector.

Mandatory Requirements
Working with Children’s Check clearance from the relevant authority;
Satisfactory Police Check (in the absolute discretion of the Company); and
Satisfactory No Doping Declaration (in the absolute discretion of the Company).
Notes
This role requires the incumbent to hold and maintain a Working With Children Clearance, along with a drivers licence and up to date first aid.
Due to the timing of AusCycling events and remote nature of the Northern Territory, this role requires flexibility in work hours including being available to work weekends, public holidays and out of hours’ work as necessary (to support events). It may also require the incumbent to travel to remote communities for up to a week at a time or as agreed.
