The Department for Child Protection is seeking multiple Senior Social Workers or Senior Case Managers to join the St Marys Office.

This role is responsible for:

Conducting complex investigations and assessments in a child-centred manner, focused on the safety of the child and on the support of the parent/family to safely care for their child.

Providing written and verbal reports which are concise, informative and based on analysis of evidence gathered and includes being a witness in court proceedings.

Responding to notifications of child abuse and the outcomes of investigations, review and reassess as needed, and remain open to a shift in perception when responding to new evidence.

Assisting families by working in partnership with them to support the safe return of their children to their care and to work directly with children in care to assure their development, stability and security at all times.

About You

We are looking for a motivated, organised individual who has the ability to understand factors that contribute to child abuse within the context of child development, parenting, family and environmental factors and confidently apply this understanding to your work and the decisions you make.

You will also have the ability to apply a culturally sensitive child protection practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and communities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
