The Senior Case Manager is to provide a high level of skills and ability in the management of complex cases and provide support to Case Managers in managing complex cases within the Intensive Family Services (IFS) Program.
As the Senior Case Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting initial engagement and develop case plans for high complex cases.
Supporting Case Managers to manage high complex cases.
Providing clinical leadership across the organisation and provide support for complex and very high-risk families.
Leading clinical assessments for determining if there is imminent risk of harm to children and audit caseloads.
Working with the Program Lead if training needs were identified for the program.
Traveling to other sites within the program including Whyalla, Port Lincoln and Ceduna to support these sites. This may include overnight stays to initially assess complex cases.
This is a Full- Time contract role working 38 hours per week until 30 June 2026 with the possibly of extension, based in either Whyalla or Port Lincoln, South Australia.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
An appropriate degree in Social Work or a human service qualification of an equivalent type.
Experience in the management of complex cases.
Experience in providing high level support to clients and families.
Experience in providing clinical supervision to staff.
High level of knowledge of the child protection system.
Demonstrated Critical Thinking, Reflective practice skills and abilities.
Demonstrated ability to work with and be sensitive to the differing needs of people from various cultural groups.
Demonstrated high level of ability to negotiate and communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with ability to manage conflicting priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly confidential manner.
Demonstrated high level of ability in the use of Microsoft Office and Information Technology.
Desirable
Previous experience in Child Protection services.
Requirements of the role:
Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check – don't worry, we can support this process if necessary!
Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check) less than 12 months old
Hold a current South Australian Driver’s License (minimum Provisional Licence)
